I want to take a moment to say CONGRATS to my friend and awesome affiliate marketer, Mike Allen! Ten years ago today, Mike purchased a domain by the name of Shopping-Bargains.com. Little did he know that this move would change the course of his life…
At Affiliate Summit West 2008, I had the opportunity to meet Mike. We were at a networking event and it was my first Affiliate Summit. At the time, I didn’t know many people in the industry. I was telling affiliates about the programs we managed but wasn’t sure how to approach everyone.
Mike was one of the most responsive people to me. He was serious about a partnership with our programs. When I got back to Miami emails were exchanged and we matched him with some great programs. It has been about a year and since then Mike has been one of the most exceptional affiliates I have had the pleasure of partnering with.
I wonder what affiliate marketing was like ten years ago. I can think of Mike and a handful of people that have been in the industry this long. I believe it’s people like him that set standards and deliver on what they say that will be in the industry for decades to come. At this years Affiliate Summit Pinnacle Awards, Mike won Best Affiliate of the Year! I was so proud of him and I knew he definitely deserved it. He has also won several other awards throughout his career.
Mike, I wish you the best in the years to come with your business. You set the bar for affiliates across the board. Thank you for your dedication, partnership, and friendship. I look forward to partnering with you for years to come.
