The Tuesday Topic is inspired by today. When you think of Saint Patrick’s Day..What comes to mind? Personally I think: Tradition, Luck, Memories, and Green Beer.

Happy St Patrick’s Day!
On this day, I always remember to wear green. Green is a must! More importantly, I have taken the pinching rule seriously. Until one year when someone got extremely mad at me. I thought it was normal to keep up with tradition but since that shocking reaction; I have tried to hold back on my pinching. I might be small but I guess I pack a mean pinch. If you find me on any St Patty’s Day and I’m not wearing green you have my permission to pinch me.

Now Luck…
I feel I have always been a lucky person. Like I have a little star in my eye and angels flying over my shoulders. I tend to have things work out in life for me, which I feel blessed about. I think the man upstairs has everything to do with it. So it might not be luck, I believe everything happens for a reason. Everything that has happened in my life is a part of God’s plan. Luck could mean something as little as my bag being overweight at the airport but it goes through. Or something as big as, I was in the neighborhood of the ARC offices for another reason but I decided to call, speak to the owner, and that ended up being my new career path in life. Thank you Lady Luck.

Memories…
Besides the girl that wanted to kill me because I pinched her. I also recall a couple things from previous St Patrick’s Days. In College, my bestfriend and I were in the elevator in the afternoon on the way to class. This guy in there was clearly intoxicated. I didn’t understand because it was so early in the day. His mouth was green and I said wow what a champ for drinking so early. Apparantly many people take on the task of drinking from morning til night during St Patrick’s Day. This is something I never noticed in Miami but I do think in some other towns the tradition of drinking all day is a must. I believe that same night we decided we should catch up on the festivities. But sadly in College we were kind of broke. With $7 we purchased McCormick’s Vodka and dyed it green. Don’t judge it was College! Remember those days?

Green Beer…
This is the perfect drink to have during any Saint Patrick’s Day celebration. Seeing as green beer does not fall into my new organic lifestyle I may allow myself to have a little bit because after all it is a Holiday. I have a friend that owns an Irish pub that I am going to stop by. He has the thickest Irish accent you can imagine. I wouldn’t want to go by any other pub than this hardcore Irish establishment.

Whatever you do to celebrate have fun, be safe, and remember pinching is just a part of the tradition!
