We are getting together to find the most effective ways of fighting the #advertisingtax. Most importantly to let others know how they can help. The best way is through a solid plan. Below is a tentative plan of action, please share your input and ideas on making it better.
1. State List
There is already a posted list of who is in each state. If you are not on the list please post a comment of your name and state so that I can add you. If you do not have anyone in your state no worries, there are others that are happy to answer your questions and participate in conference calls so that you are not alone. No one is alone in this, many people are willing and ready to help.
2. Government and Media Contact List
This list will be provided per State as well, it will have an easy way to contact your local state representative whether it be by email or through Twitter. This is something that I will post by the end of the week. In the meantime, it is easy to find contacts through Twitter. Remember to use Social Media as your tool to spreading awareness: blog, search for good contacts, use the hashtag #advertisingtax, post questions or ideas to the facebook group.
3. Statistics, Material, Resources
Statistics and resources will be available to back your points up. This will be a one page email or letter that you can customize to your state. It will be an attention grabber with important content and statistics that you can show for your state that will speak volumes about the tax’s negative impact.
4. Education
You don’t have to be an expert but the idea is to know the basics. I found an awesome candidate to explain the #advertisingtax in a nutshell. This will be a brief video that will give you a better understanding of the tax, also what you should or should not say. This is in the works and will be a key component in operation fight the #advertisingtax!
I am very excited at how everyone is getting together. The people are speaking up, blogging, joining the State list and asking how they can help. The networks are stepping it up with providing statistics per state. The state representatives are reacting to letters and meetings. There is a video that is going to put all the pieces together for everyone. Soon it will all click and you will know what you can do to help.
