Making Money with WordPress - Affiliate Marketing Style

June 10th, 2009 · Comments · affiliate marketing, blogging

I am presenting to the South Florida WordPress MeetUp on Making Money with WordPress through Affiliate Marketing. Below is a recap of the presentation and resources I used. Please feel free to share them and also ask questions in the comments below. Thank you and I definitely recommend taking advantage of the opportunity to monetize from your blog.

This is how I feel about Affiliate Marketing. This industry is performance based marketing. So you are like a sales person getting commissions for the sales you make online for the merchant programs you promote. Decide what you are passionate about, blog consistently about your topic, and find merchants that compliment your area of expertise. Make money talking about what you love. Each merchant offers a different commission structure. You can view all their program details and benefits before signing up. Lastly, being an affiliate is free.

Step one is to sign up to an affiliate network. ShareASale has won several awards and is known for being the trusted network to partner with. All the merchant programs we manage with ARC are in the ShareASale Network. Their role is to track affiliate sales and create reporting. They will pay affiliates their commissions. You sign up there and can join multiple programs. When signing up you need your website and contact information. They approve applications normally within 24 hours
