Global Entrepreneurship took place last week. This is an event that goes on all over the world. I happened to be in Miami and took part in this week at the University of Miami. They had events going on all week including an elevator speech contest for the community and students. This meant that they had competitions going on for prizes and money all to benefit local startups. What an inspiring event!
The Launch Pad which is a non-profit at the University of Miami hosted this event. The Launch Pad encourages students to pick entrepreneurship as a career. At the final night of the competition there were 20 finalists sharing their best business ideas in 90 seconds.
Micro Media Marketing was proud to sponsor one of the winning prizes. Along with many other local sponsors supporting young entrepreneurs and fresh ideas to grow the local economy. It was truly inspirational to see people as young as 19 sharing their bright businesses or business ideas with the audience. Needless to say we will definitely be a part of each Global Entrepreneurship Week every year. You should look into getting involved as well it is all over the world. You can either share your ideas or help other startups get to where they want to be. The sky is the limit.
I was live tweeting the event using the hashtag #GEW. Here are some of contestants ideas:
